Darius began his dance training in his home town Cincinnati at School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) and began his professional dance career as an apprentice at the age of 14 with Cincinnati Ballet. After graduating from SCPA he moved to New York and attended the School of American Ballet under the tutelage of Stanley Williams, Mikhail Baryshnikov, and Peter Martins receiving the Mae L. Wien award and joined New York City Ballet. Subsequently he also performed with Los Angeles Ballet, LA Opera. Shortly thereafter he made his move to Broadway and his theater credits include The Color Purple Broadway and 1st National Touring company, The Phantom of the Opera Broadway, and Motown the Musical Broadway and 1st National Touring company performing the principal role of Marvin Gaye and other featured roles such as Stevie Wonder, Levi Stubbs, David Ruffin, Jackie Wilson and Rick James. He has also had the pleasure of performing abroad in Toulon France with their ballet company in the premier production of Un Ticket Pour Broadway (A Ticket for Broadway) and with Opera de Toulon in the American opera Street Scene in the role of Dick McGann. Darius’ appeared in the the film The Last Five Years starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan.
