Luis Salgado is an internationally renowned performer, director and choreographer, with an acclaimed career on Broadway, film, television, and stages around the world. Luis is currently part of the new Broadway musical On Your Feet, the Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan. Other Broadway credits include features ensemble in ROCKY Broadway, Malik in the musical adaptation of Pedro Almodóvar's Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, and ensemble (as well as Latin Assistant Choreographer) in the Tony Award-winning musical In The Heights.
A strong community leader and humanitarian, Luis is the founder and CEO of R.Evolución Latina, the organization that seeks to empower the Hispanic community through educational programming and collaborations. The organization's best known initiatives are the Dare to Go Beyond Performing Arts Camp and School Arts programs for children, and the Beyond Workshops Series, a 5-week annual professional development program for adult performers.
Upon arriving at the United States, Luis immediately became a presence in the Off-Broadway, national touring, and regional theater circuit with credits such as The Mambo Kings (Frankie Suárez), Fame on 42nd Street (Joe Vegas, understudy), and Aida, among others. Additional film work includes Step Up 2 the Streets, Across The Universe and Dirty Dancing 2 among others.
